EDUC 8823_Week 2_BLOG
Colleagues...I am slowly getting used to this new communication tool. The setup was easy, however, getting started and figuring out the difference in posting interface and blog interface was a little tough. I am wondering if the BLOG interface is more an informal way to communicate the EDUC 8823 topics and the eCollege interact is the formal place of discussion?
Since I am new at this, I am not quite sure of all of the instructional benefits, however, I do see how controlling the BLOG posts is beneficial for students' K-12 security. The messenger service lacks mobility and security, the BLOG seems to have this.

In the beginning I also wondered how this BLOG would be different then the discussion board in the classroom but I am finding this less formal. On the discussion board I feel like everything is being graded and analyzed. We also have a prompt to follow. In the Blogs I feel there is more freedom.
What does everyone think of the messenger? I find I am not able to access it at work b/c it is blocked by our filter. And, I am going on vacation overseas where I will not be able to access it away from my downloaded program...Erin
